You are looking at a real piece of American history. Like baseball, cookouts and apple pie nothing says "Americana" quite like an old Jeep! I found this ol' girl out in the field down in southern Alabama and had to tow her away on a flatbed, put in a new battery, turned the key and the fuse box caught fire and half of her wires fried from the get-go. After opening her up I found the transfer case and transmission were both severely damaged and literally full of mud, tires were dry-rotted and rims were rusting away under the tires. The rear axle was being held up by a floor jack and was sitting uncovered outside for who knows how long. After getting the engine started it literally blew apart on me blowing a 4" hole out of the side of the block.  What you are seeing here is the result of the last 2½ years of work I've done to restore her to her former glory. I've replaced every wire from the headlight to the taillight (plus those too!), a brand new 4.2L Straight 6 engine with less than 2,500 miles on it (replaced speedometer when I replaced the engine - speedometer says 1,300 miles more but that was because I didn't disconnect the driveshaft when I towed it here), new T-150 Transmission, Master Clutch kit, Weber Carburetor, brakes, ignition system, new black denim Bestop Supertop, new 35" tires and rims, sanded off the spray-paint from the idiot before me and went down to bare metal then I had it primed and painted (May 2014), replaced the rear axle, of course some awesome off-road lights, plus and much more.  This CJ5 has new life again, new parts in a classic car. She isn't 100% restored yet so there are still things you can spend your nights and weekends working on with friends or alone after the wife has gone to bed. If you can picture yourself with the doors off and top down cruising down the road or tearing up the trails and want to own this piece of American history make a bid!  I know there are a lot of CJ's on here starting at lower bids, but this one is practically new. Only 2,500 miles on her new engine and transmission, clutch, tires, etc... - you can't beat that. Moving in Georgia in two weeks so don't delay.  I knocked a grand off the price from the last posting to offset some cost for those of you who contacted me last time about shipping it - I am not taking any less than 7k for this Jeep so I don't be posting it again for less if it doesn't sell, I'll just tow it to Georgia and keep working on it as I've done.  If you post questions in the comment section below I can add 5 more pictures for free per comment I believe.  Here is a list of the various upgrades and replacements I've done (as far as I can remember -- list is not fully comprehensive of course):Bestop SuperTop AMC 4.2L (258) Straight 6 EngineWiring Harness 32/36 DGV Manual Choke Weber Carburetor35x12.5x15 BF Goodrich KM2 tires AND RimsFuel Pressure RegulatorRadiatorT-150 TransmissionHeater CoreHeater/Blower MotorStarter SolenoidIgnition ModuleIgnition SwitchDistributor (Assembly, Gear, Cap, Rotor, etc.)Ignition WiresSpark PlugsIgnition Lock and CylinderSpeedometer CableSpeedometer Gauge ClusterMaster Clutch KitDana 20 Transfer Case Overhaul KitBatteryStarter  EGR ValveCowl SealWiper Switch for 3 Wire Windshield Wiper MotorHeater Defroster Hose, OvalDefroster Duct, OvalDash PanelFront Seats WITH the RisersSeatbeltsPaint jobRear Brake Cables / Drums / HardwareEmergency Brake CableMaster CylinderOil Pan15 Gal. Screaming Yellow
Zonkers!!

            Screaming
Yellow Zonkers began as someone’s deserted project left out in a field to
die.  After 40 years of experience in autobody restoration, I decided to take her on.

            I
brought her home and began to bring her back to life.  She had all the running gear under her, including
the 4:88 lockers and top loader four-speed.
At that point, I extended the frame, put CJ7 springs under her and put a
high-performance 302 in with an aluminum flywheel and high-performance clutch
and hanging hydraulic clutch brake assembly.  Then it came time for the Camaro steering box
and GM tilt steering column with dimmer switch and wipers on it.   After that I built a front guard to protect it
and the aluminum radiator and electric fan along with the winch.

            Inside
I built a diamond-plate dash with a full set of gauges, padded racing seats and
a roll cage with a polyurethane gas tank.
With the gas-filler neck and cap coming out the roll cage, she is a
one-of-a-kind!

            Painted
yellow with a black bikini top and tonto cover, she’s a real looker with her
36-inch Swampers and chrome spoke wheels.

            Now
she’s fast, safe and good-looking; ready to climb anything!!!!

            Screaming
Yellow Zonkers is sure to please you as much as she’s pleased me.    The wife says there’s only room for one
Screamer in the house and she makes half the payments.

Zonkers
is waiting to scream at you!!!!!

Cash or PayPal.  Pick up locally or make your own arrangements with a shipping company.

Selling my 1971 Jeep CJ5 Renegade , the original Renegade equipped with the venerable Dauntless 225ci v6-3speed manual transmission. This Jeep is well sorted out. The motor and trans are original as equipped and were rebuilt with less then 10k miles since rebuild. This motor, in my opinion, is one of the best Jeep motors ever used. It is an odd fire Buick v-6. This motor has alot of horsepower and torque and is very compact and light. The sound that an odd fire v6 makes is unique and righteous. It has wheel exit headers and turbo mufflers, not too quiet but not too loud, which makes that perfect sound. The transmission is a B/W T-14A 3-speed. It has a synchromesh first gear so you can downshift at low speed into first unlike earlier Jeep transmissions were you had to come to a complete stop to put it in first gear. The research I have done indicates this is a late production 1970 Renegade 1 titled and sold in 1971. This Jeep has the 999 340 paint/trim code on the firewall common to Renegades. I believe the original color was plum purple because I can see purple in an area of the rear wheel well where the tire has rubbed the top layers of paint off. This Jeep is licensed and road worthy but I would call this a 90/10 Jeep. Meaning it should be used 90% off road and 10% on road. This Jeep is a rugged trail Jeep that can be driven to and from the trail. This Jeep drips fluid from the front and rear axle pinion seals. It is not a major leak but only a nuisance drip. This Jeep was painted and had its floor boards replaced about 10 years ago and has held up well. It has always been stored indoors. In the pictures you will see some bubbling and cracks in the paint and some rust coming out in some areas (see Pics). This is a very solid Jeep. This Jeep has a heavy duty frame because it is a Renegade and the frame has no rotting anywhere only surface rust. This Jeep has functioning stereo, CB radio, heater, wipers, window washer fluid pump, turn signals, brake lights and reverse lights. It has a horn but the button on the Grant steering wheel needs to be replaced. This Jeep is also equipped with heavy duty leaf spring suspension, a 20 gallon steel gas tank with heavy duty skid plate, locking gas cap, and I have added an electric fan in addition to the stock belt driven fan. The electric fan is a pusher fan and keeps the engine nice and cool when going slow through the trails at low speed and low rpm. The tires are older but have alot of tread and have innertubes in place. I am selling the Jeep with both full Best Top soft top with doors and bikini top included. Both are in good shape. I will also throw in the with the sale a set of vintage slotted mags I bought for this Jeep but never got around to putting them on. These are deep slotted mags from the '70s and will look perfect on this Jeep. Although I do love the look of the deep white steel wheels on this Jeep also. Jeep is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end listing early if not sold here on EBay. Don't wait. Ask questions. Thanks for looking!

You are looking at my 1977 Jeep CJ-5 that I bought in the spring as a small project to drive for the summer. It was last on the road in 2005.  Jeep has a 258 straight six, 3 speed transmission, Dana 20 transfer case, model 20 rear with 1 piece axles, Dana 30 front, Manual steering and manual drum brakes.True mileage is unknown. Has a Bestop soft top with 2 piece doors and newer Bestop front buckets, no rear seat. I have over $2000 worth of receipts for parts that I have put into the Jeep and will do my best to describe it. The engine has a new Comp cam, timing set, lifters, pushrods and rockers. Head was sent to the machine shop for a rebuild that included a 3 angle valve job, new guides, seals, springs and locks. Motor was reassembled with Fel Pro gaskets, new water pump, full tune up including cap, rotor and wires, heater core and hoses. Has a Clifford aluminum intake, Holley 4 barrel carb, K&N filter, split header with dual exhaust and Mallory ignition. Runs good, clutch grabs good, doesn't overheat, good oil pressure, slight occasional stumble on acceleration, just needs some more tuning. Brakes were gone through, shoes and hardware were like new, all 4 wheel cylinders were replaced along with both front brake hoses and both rear emergency brake cables. Steering shaft from column to box was replaced with a HD unit. Transfer case linkage was rebuilt to remove all slop and shifts great. Has vintage 4WD hardware front hubs that look like copies of a Selectro hub. Jeep is rolling on real Western aluminum wheels, 15X10 with 32" tires, fronts are brand new B F Goodrich All Terrains, rears are like new Widetrack Radial Baja. Jeep has a small lift of unknown brand and custom home made front and rear bumpers. I welded in some patches to the front floors and tub sides under the Jeep logo then covered the repairs with aluminum diamond plate on the outside. The tub does have some other rust, worst being at the rear crossmember. All other body mount areas are solid. Frame has no rot at all, jus a little surface rust as to be expected with a 1977 vehicle. The only other negatives that I can think of is there is no speedo cable, slight oil drip from drain plug and the gas gauge doesn't work.  Miscelaneous new stuff includes new wipers and arms, headlights, marker light lens and bulbs. Windshield is good, all lights and heat work, currently registered, inspected and driven. Comes with a box of spare parts, full set of used fender flares, extra tire not on a rim and a replacement tailgate. While the Jeep does run and drive good I have only driven it locally and wouldn't suggest flying in and trying to drive it across country unless you're into that sort of adventure. I welcome anyone nearby to come and look at it in person. Also for sale locally.

1979 Jeep CJ5 304 V8 manual 3 speed. Needs some some TLC or drive as is. Good project, off road or even hunting vehicle.Actual miles. Runs and drives good, sounds great. Starts right up.  4x4 works good. Steering wonders a little, may need a new steering box? Does drip a little oil after driving, not much.Solid frame and body. Fenders look new. Old repaint, flaking and peeling (see photos), original color was Olympic white. I ran a magnet around the body and it sticks everywhere. Looks like front floors had been replaced, rear is original and has a hole in floor (not a rust hole) about the size of a quarter to get access to fuel pump, not sure?  No rot on this Jeep, some surface rust near windshield and cowl meet and back upper corner behind passenger side light. Otherwise solid.Headlights, running lights, side lights and signals all in good working order.Looks like original wagon wheel rims, I think the rims have spacers thats why the tires are sticking out a little. Nice black Besttop soft top and doors (2 years old) and bikini top with matching doors (brown). Has a matching fold/roll rear seat but is not installed, need brackets. I have a nice dash that could go along with it and a matching center console. It does have a spare tire carrier, but one of the tire bolts are broke. Also have new mirrors and a few other small parts.Factory optional tilt, tach and clock. Disc front brakes.Fuel, temp, oil, amp gauges and heat blower are not working.I have included some really large photos to look over and study.I don't know any of the history but will try and answer all question so please ask!I want the buyer to be happy with no surprises. For sale locally, reserve the right to end the auction early.

On Oct-18-14 at 05:10:07 PDT, seller added the following information:

I have had couple questions about the embossed jeep type on the side. I'm guessing the entire side panels have been replaced. And where there is surface rust on the upper drivers cowl is where the panels meet.

This 1982 Jeep Scrambler CJ8 has a great look
and has seen some desirable powertrain upgrades, namely a Chevy 350 with
a five-speed manual transmission. Clad in red with a tan top and tan
interior, paint is nice driver quality and all panels are straight.
Floor pans and rockers are also nice. A suspension lift, 16-inch alloy
wheels and beefy mud-terrain tires give this Scrambler a great stance. The
interior shows well with newer tan seats and a matching center console; all
gauges are working, including the clock, tachometer, speedometer and
fuel gauge -- aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauges are mounted in
the dash. The stereo has been updated to an AM/FM/CD unit with aux input
and Bluetooth.Under the hood is a Chevrolet 350 cubic inch V8
mated to a T5 five-speed manual gearbox. The gearbox has just been
rebuilt and the clutch, flywheel, starter and battery are also brand
new. This Jeep starts, runs and drives beautifully -- and it makes
significantly more power than the stock straight six. With power
steering and power disc brakes, it's an easy truck to drive. All tune-up
and service items are up-to-date.All in all, this is a clean,
well-sorted driver with excellent powertrain upgrades. For more
information about this Jeep Scrambler available at Motorcar Studio in
Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250.

1965 Jeep Tuxedo Park VI

In 1961,
Kaiser was coming to the realization that it had an image problem. The broader
masses believed the Jeep to be a great…vehicle — that is, if you needed to work
on the farm, go hunting, or partake in some other industrious activity. To fix
this “problem” they decided to introduce a new, more “upscale” version of the
CJ-5. So…in 1961, the Tuxedo Park was introduced as a trim package. It is
widely believed that these trim packages (Tuxedo Park I, II and III) were
offered between 1961-1963, and included chrome add-ons, along with an “Indian
Ceramic” steering wheel (in place of the standard black). The seats also
received an upgrade to “Black British Calf Grain Vinyl with Indian Ceramic
Facings” (Trim Code L-29).

In 1964,
Kaiser promoted the Tuxedo Park as it’s own separate model (Tuxedo Park Mark
IV) for the CJ-5A and CJ-6A. The Tuxedo Park Mark IV included several
options that set it apart from the standard Jeep. These options included:

- Chrome
front bumper
- Chrome hood badges
- Windshield clamp catch
- Chrome drop down license plate holder
- Chrome tail lamps
- Hubcap displaying the “Jeep” emblem
- Column shift

This is a very strong running vehicle, transmission and
transfer case work well, Good tires, hard top doors. All Glass is included and
in good shape.

Needs break lines and break work. Numbers match. No title, I
am working on getting title. The price goes up with the title.
