This is what Jeeps were like before they got "citified". No radio, no AC, no fru fru DVD player hanging from the roof. No power windows, no power door locks.....Hell, it's a JEEP. It is in pretty good shape but is not as "pretty" as it is in picture by the river. It is 44 years old, it has been used gently but it has not been abused. It is pretty damned straight for an old Jeep. In the summer you take the roof and the doors off. In the winter you can either put the roof and doors on or wear a jacket, hell this is South Texas it will be 60 by lunchtime in January. It has a fairly new Bestop with matching side doors but I really never used them, they go with it. It has Warn Locking Hubs and they and the four wheel drive work great. It has a new speedometer and the last owner told me that it had 21,000 miles on it but I have no way of verifying the number. This is not a highway Jeep, I never took it much over 50 just because I did not want to beat on it. On a warm summer day (of about 108 degrees)  you drop the windshield and it feels pretty good. Heater works good as do the wipers and all the lights. It holds 8 gallons of gas and runs really well. Transmission and transfer case work fine and do not leak a lot. The steering box has a worn bushing that needs to be fixed so the steering has a little play in it.  The alternator voltage is about 15 volts so the gas gauge and temp gauge do not read correctly. I checked it and the temperature is correct with no temperature higher than 180 degrees. I put an oil pressure gauge in it and the oil pressure is fine. I put new brushes and a new Bendix in the starter so it works great too. Brakes and exhaust are fine.  The body is rust free but it has an area on the left rear corner that was fixed by the previous owner somewhere in the past. It is something that someone who had used Bondo more than once could probably fix in an hour or so. New battery, new tires a couple thousand miles ago. New spare with the new tires. All the lights work and because of the Texas year of manufacture plates it does not require State Inspection. You get a lot of thumbs ups from the newer Jeep guys and a lot of questions from people because they like it. you don't find Jeeps that have not been modified very often these days and it is a real time machine.
