1966 CJ 6 CJ-6

31,630 milesOriginal F head 134 cubic inch 4 cylinder engine, which I just finished having professionally rebuilt and installed. The mechanic went through the whole thing from front to back, top to bottom. They installed new hoses, fuel lines, gauges, battery, cables, professionally rebuilt carburetor and clutch kit. It is mechanically good, but keep in mind it is 46 years old. Let me know if you want to talk to the shop that did the work.I purchased this jeep last year in Southern Missouri intending to use it on my farm, but it takes up too much room in my garage and I just don't use it like I thought I would. When I bought it, it hadn't run in years, but the body and frame were unbelievably clean. It had been used on a large hunting ranch by a hunting club until it stopped running. They thought it hasn't even been on a road for about 30 years. Thus the clean condition underneath. I have observed light surface rust underneath as seen in the pictures.

It was painted the camouflage green many years ago, but it appears to have the original Indian Ceramic (redish-orange) still pretty shiny where they didn't paint or where the green has peeled off. Because it was used in the woods a lot, there are plenty of dings in the fenders, etc. It does have a decent homemade roll bar. (I read that there were no stock roll bars made for these.) Floors are very solid, but part of the driver side floor has been bent upward while crossing over a log according to the previous owner. It has both original fuel tanks under each seat, but the passenger side tank has not been used in decades. The switches and levers are still on the dash to switch. Tires all have good tread, but have weather cracking. I just put tubes in two of them. Three are matching.Another rarity is the steel hard top. I was told that it is worth $1200 alone, in any condition. It includes steel doors in decent condition and a lift gate. (Lift gate window is missing and latch doesn't function properly, but looks like it just needs a new flat bar for the latch on one side, as it is bent.) The top and doors are included with the sale.It has the stock triple stick manual transmission. One is the standard 3-speed. One is 2 or 4WD. One is High-Low Range. And the low range is VERY low on this thing. I have been told that because of the low gearing, CJ-6's are highly sought after as rock crawlers. This thing will literally crawl over logs in low gear.Well, I'm way over budget. So my loss can be your gain. I've spent almost $8000 on this since last year, primarily on mechanical refurbishing. It needs paint and new seats, and it could be ready for a parade. Amazing condition for a 46 year old vehicle. I have current title in hand. BUY IT NOW price gets you a couple used high back CJ seats and free delivery within 500 miles. Please ask questions before the auction ends. You are more than welcome come look it over and drive it before the auction ends. I am near Cedar Rapids, Iowa and I keep it in my shop.

(I believe they only work back to 1981). The VIN on this jeep is correct per my Iowa title.Tail lights do not work. I told them not to bother hooking them up and the left one is broken, Head lights with high and low beam work great. The heater core is there, but they plugged it, so it is disabled. Brakes work good, but pull to the right. Glove box button is sticky, so I've been oiling it and working it, so it is getting better. Speedometer works but fuel gauge does not. I also don't think the temperture gauge in the speedo cluster does not work. However, there are three brand new gauges below (see picture) that do work- Oil pressure, volts, and temperture. The mechanic also put two in-line fuel filters on the jeep. The only trouble I've had since getting this back from him is that it started running rough after a few weeks. I replaced the filters and it instantly ran much better.   Remember, this is a 46 year old jeep, so it is NOT perfect. Please look at all pictures and ask if you have any questions.

Being Sold AS IS, WHERE IS. I have the current title in hand.

I can assist in shipping, but buyer is responsible for the arrangements.
