Hi and thanks for looking.  Today I have for sale my 1976 Jeep CJ5.  It is a custom Jeep that I have been working on for about 6 years.  I originally planned to restore it to stock however decided to make it a little more of, "my own" once I started to build it.  This Jeep started its life from the Toledo Ohio plant as a well equipped brown/black CJ5.  When I bought it the rear of the body had been removed due to the sellers plans to install a flat bed, which never amounted to anything more than destroying the body.

The frame of this Jeep is very solid.  It was dissassembled to the bare frame, inspected, cleaned, stripped and then under coated.  There was one spot on the inside frame rail by the rear drivers side spring mount that had an aprox 1 inch square rust hole and it was professionally repaired, looked good then and still looks good now.

The body is custom built of a 1" square tubing and 1" x 2" rectangluar space frame and skinned with 16 gauge sheet metal.  It is very strong and rigid and the door opening have been increased in size for easier entry and exiting.  The body retains the stock size and a full 2 inch roll cage has been custom fabricated and is bolted in place.  The roll cage mounts in 9 locations within the body, also to increase the rigidity and the body has been strengthened in all mounting locations with plate steel during the build of the body.  The body is not a show peice and does have some waves, however a show piece was not my intension.  It was to build a no nonsense, durable and safe body/roll cage set up and it delivers.  There is ABSOLUTELY no rust in the body or Bondo.  The hood, grill, firewall and upper cowl were the ONLY original body parts, all other steel is new, heavy gauge and very durable.  Floors are new and stress points are all reinforced, this is not a weak fiberglass body.  The paint was new this summer, dark silver with base coat/clear coat and other than a few small blems from assembly of the Jeep it all looks good.

The roll cage is custom built with 9 mounting points and the seats mount to it.  Seats are pretty comfortable and 4 point harnesses for safety.

The front tube fenders and rear tube fender flares are constructed from 1.5" by 1/8" wall steel tubing, bent, welded and then 1/8" plate steel is welded in place for additional strength and protections from debris.  The fenders and flares are HEAVY!

Front axle is a Dana 44 and rear is a 12 bolt chevy with a posi and are both from a 78 Chevy K10.  These are the heavy duty 3" tube axles.  The front axle was narrowed by 4" to bolt into the Jeeps stock spring locations.  Essentually you could still bolt a stock Dana 30/AMC 20 axle combo in this Jeep if desired.  The WMS to WMS is 65" front and rear.  The front Dana 44 has flat top spindles and high steer installed with 1.5" DOM steering set up and 1 ton tie rod ends.  Also the steering box was upgraded with a J10 arm.  The rear 12 bolt was upgraded with disc brakes.  The front and rear brakes are all BRAND NEW including rotors, pads, calipers, brake lines, stainless steel braided flex lines and an adjustable proportioning valve.  These brakes STOP when you need them and are dialed in pretty good as the front are not over powered by the rear.

The engine is an AMC 360 with an edelbrock torquer II intake and a brand new Holley 4 barrel, 650 CFM (I think) carburator.  The heads were removed, valve job performed and pistons and bearing inspected and looking good.  New distributer cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs installed.  I had a set of valve covers ordered and they were not the correct one, I havent had a chance to order new ones yet so please excuse the poor paint.  Engine runs good and seams to have good power to the T150 and Dana 20 operating in 4 high/4 low and 2 high/neutral.  I installed a twin stick shifter set up which works great with a very solid feel.   Also solid wood shift knobs which look nice with a great glossy finish.  Brand new fuel tank and lines as well as brand new HEADMAN HEADERS with 2.5" dual exhaust into a FLOW MASTER muffler and 3" out the back with all mandrel bent tubing.  GREAT SOUND!

Tires are near new 315/75R16 BFG all terrains on older 6 bolt wheels.

There is a ton of new parts on this Jeep and I have put countless hours into making it what it is today.  I am selling it becase I am moving and the house I bought does not have a tall enough garage door.  It's always been garaged and I don't see a reason to change that now.  There is a few thing that will need finished that I just havent had a chance to complete yet.  As you can see it needs a windshield.  I have the rubber surround, just not the glass.  Also the hood, front fenders and rear wheel flares need painted.  Other than that, it shouldnt need anything.  As you can see in the pics it is missing the front steering dampener and front and rear shocks.  I have the shocks and stabilizers on order as we speak (2/15/13) and they will be installed prior to the day of sale.  I have included a lot of pics and have pics of the entire build as it was happening, feel free to ask for more pics or set up a time to stop by and take it for a test drive.  The milage on the speedo is 3140 however I guarentee that is not correct and there is a clean and clear title included.  Otherwise good luck and thanks for looking!
