Greeting Ebayers. Up for sale is my 1972 Jeep CJ 5 original 304 V8. I bought this CJ 5 couple of years ago for trial riding at my mountain home near Lake Arrowhead and it has performed great. But, my wife is very petite and the stick shift is tough for her to drive because of the clutch so I intend to get another CJ 5 with an automatic transmission. But, I need to make room in the garage first. After I bought it I had my mechanic pressure test the engine cylinders and replace all the usual wear stuff - brakes, brake and wheel cylinders, hoses, filters, fluids, spark plugs, engine mounts, body mounts, etc. He also serviced the differentials and transmission. We also put in a new master cylinder since I kind of like well maintained brakes. I had him add seat belts at all four seats, new blinker set up, rework the roll bar to reinforce it and added backing plates at all mounting points, we put new rubber at all four corners (less than 300 miles on the new tires), and add a tuner that has an audio in and Polk speakers. We also took it to the muffler shop to replace the old exhaust that had some bad hangers and lousy mufflers. The exhaust system is now up to snuff.  It sounds great and turns head on the trail when you stomp on the gas. After I got it up to my mountain home from the Palm Desert area I put on a new carburetor, took out the points and condenser and added a Pertronix electronic ignition with high voltage spark Pertronix coil and new spark plug cables. That made all the difference in the world as it fires right up even after sitting in my garage for a month or two, even when cold. I also put wire loom cover over all exposed wiring to clean up the engine compartment and protect the wires from any heat, water, mud, snow, etc. I also put padding on the entire roll bar. I also upgraded the tachometer and steering wheel. Also added are the new bikini top and new battery.  I was going to have my upholstery man make a cover in tan for the roll bar so that it would match the seats but I have not gotten to that yet.The CJ has the stock three speed, one stick transfer case and the Warn hubs all work and lockup properly. The winch works great and has the wired remote. The engine runs very strong and it handles the trails of Big Bear with no problem at all. My brother in law has a 1963 with the Iron Duke four banger and he calls my Jeep "The Beast". You have to love the torque from the V8 with headers and the Edelbrock intake manifold upgrade. The upholstery has no holes or tears. The entire tub is Rhino lined so cleaning it out after hitting the trials is as easy as taking a hose to the interior. The wiper motor is dead and I do have a new linkage. I also have a new high volume water pump because the old pump is starting to make some noise, but I just have not gotten to it yet. Both go with the sale. The heater was also deleted by a previous owner and I have not gotten to that project either. Other than that, it is in great shape.  No rust on frame or under body.  Very clean. As a 1972 it is smog exempt and is registered to July 2013 in California.I do have more pictures on Dropbox.
